Is Academic Decathlon only for
straight "A" students?
A: No, there are no requirements for joining Academic Decathlon, nor is there a specific type of person who can succeed
in Academic Decathlon. In fact one of our record scorers had a C average and was accepted to UC Berkeley. Over the years,
students of all grade point averages have joined academic decathlon. As a decathlete, you will work with students who are
creative and spontaneous and others who are analytical and organized. Each competing team must have students with A, B and
C or below grade point averages.
